Hon. Justice Vincent Emmy Mugabo leading the guard of honor at the opening of the criminal session of the Kasese Chief Magistrate

Hon. Justice Vincent Emmy Mugabo has this kicked off a criminal session in Kasese to reduce case backlog in the circuit.

The 40cases causelisted has two cases from 2014, four cases of 2017, seven cases of2018, 18 cases registered in 2019 and nine cases of 2020.

Out of the 40 cases, Aggravated Robbery cases lead by 20 followed by Murder 15 with 15cases. Aggravated Defilement and one case of Treason are the other cases to be handled.

The session is aimed at reducing on prison congestion. Currently, Katojo Prison has813 committals and the female wing has 43 committed inmates.
